Robertson Road to Evansville comprises many different float options. Each can be tailored to make anywhere from an hour long float to a full day float. Each of these sections will have you floating through residential, industrial or commercial areas of Casper. Robertson Road to Morad Park is a few miles long with limited public access. You may stop on river left a half mile below Robertson Road Bridge where a drainage channel enters the river. You may also stop on river right starting in front of the Wyoming Game and Fish office and continuing to the Morad Park boat ramp. Morad Park is accessed from Wyoming Boulevard. Morad Park to Watco. This is a very short section that is only a couple miles long. You may stop on river right from the Morad Park boat ramp all the way to the end of the City of Casper Water Treatment plant property. The boat ramp at Watco is directly downstream of the bridge on river left. Access to the ramp is from Wyoming Blvd. Watco to Amoco Park. This is a very short section, less than 2 miles long. Public access is plentiful. On river right across from the boat ramp is a city park and that access ends just below where Garden Creek enters the North Platte River on river right. Access resumes after the fenced in storage lot and continues to the boat ramp. Access starts on the left side after you pass under the old railroad bridge and float around the right hand bend. Once you pass the Pepper Tank yard you may stop on river left all the way to the ramp. The ramp at Amoco Park is accessed from Yellowstone Hwy an extension of First Street (Wyoming Hwy 20-26). Amoco Park to Brian Stock Trail (aka soccer fields). CAUTION!! The North Platte River immediately below the ramp at Amoco Park has been manufactured into a whitewater kayak park. If you are not an expert on the oars do not do this float. Scout the features before attempting them if you decide to float this section. There are dangerous hydraulics and the water features can be shallow causing boat damage if it is approached incorrectly. There is public access on both sides of the river from the boat ramp to the Poplar Street Bridge roughly a half mile downstream. River right is the 3 Crowns Golf Course and river left is Amoco Park. The next access starts on river right below the First Street Bridge and continues to the Parkway Plaza Hotel (soon to be renamed the Platte River Resort). There is a boat ramp on river right at the Platte River Resort. But, you should ask for permission to use this ramp as you drive and park on their property. The Platte River Resort is accessed via Center Street just to the south of Interstate 25. Once you pass under the Interstate 25 bridges access begins on river left adjacent to the Ramada Riverside Hotel. This access continues uninterrupted for several miles almost all the way to the ramp at Brian Stock Trail Bridge. Access on river right begins as you leave the residential area and approach the soccer field complex. The ramp is located just upstream of the Brian Stock Trail Bridge on river right. The ramp is narrow…be careful! Access to the Brian Stock Trail (soccer field) ramp is via Brian Stock Trail, which is an extension of Beverly Street. Brian Stock Trail to Evansville. This section is another short float that will have you out of the residential developments, but passing through industrial areas. There is a short public access area on river left after you pass under the Brian Stock Trail Bridge. The next access is on river right as you enter the Evansville Park. This park is not very developed and the boat ramp is dirt with a stump in the middle of it. It would be wise if you drove to the take out to make sure you know where you will be ending up on the river. It is possible to miss the ramp. This ramp is accessed via Curtis Street in Evansville, Wyoming. Curtis Street is an extension of Wyoming Blvd. Travel north on Curtis Street and turn left on a dirt road just before you cross the bridge. The ramp is approximately a mile down this road. The North Platte River as it passes through Casper gets very little attention. These floats are good options if you only have a couple hours to spend on the water.
