Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park to The Big Muddy Access is an all day float that is over 9 miles long. Floating through this section you will experience rural residential with no industrial areas. There are a couple sections where you will be away from any development. Most of this float will have you passing through river bottoms with plenty of Cottonwood trees. Bank structure is good. The river is narrower here than in the upper reaches near Grey Reef. There are a couple prairie sections along this stretch. Access continues on river right below the boat ramp for a mile until you reach the end of Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park property. There is also a short public area on river left. The next access is 3 miles downstream. It is a short public area on both sides of the river. From this access you will float over private property for several miles before reaching County Line Bridge. Below the bridge public access starts on both sides of the river and continues uninterrupted on river left for roughly 3 miles until you get to the ramp at the Big Muddy Access. The access on the right starts and stops several times before reaching the ramp. The ramp is on river left just downstream of the Big Muddy Bridge. Big Muddy is accessed via the Old Glenrock Hwy (Wyoming Hwy 20-26) 18 miles east of Casper. A tall radio tower is a good landmark to look for when trying to find the Big Muddy Access Road. The radio tower is also visible while floating the river.
